Disney Designer Midnight Masquerade Villains Revealed
*Updated to reflect the most recent reveal
Things might get a little spooky at the Midnight Masquerade! Traditionally, the Disney Designer Midnight Masquerade series is inspired by moonlit balls and the elegance of beloved Disney heroines. The previous collection features limited edition dolls dressed in glamours reimagined gowns and intricate masks. For this upcoming collection, ShopDisney took to their Instagram to give us a little tease and it looks like we may be getting Villains - just in time for Halloween.
I can’t get enough villains merchandise, and I can’t wait to see how fabulous the villains will look. Since these dolls are usually limited edition, they’re likely to sell out fairly quickly. I’m also hoping to see another collab with Colorpop Cosmetics as they did for the first Designer Collection series as well as the previous Midnight Masquerade series so we can create some dark and smokey looks for the Halloween season. I’m hoping to see Ursula, Maleficent, Dr. Facilier, and Jafar in this collection.
*UPDATE*
The collection has been reveal and here are the villains in this series:
Maleficent
Yzma
Ursula
Lady Tremaine
Evil Queen
Hades
These iconic baddies are dressed in their finest for the Masquerade Ball. I was pleasantly surprised to see Lady Tremaine in this series. It’s also fitting as she has some, uh, personal experience with the ball. I love her outfit the most. The cutout panel in her skirt, with chains threading across and giving us a peak at a form-fitting pencil skirt and boot underneath. This is exactly the kind of outfit I’d picture her in for a Masquerade ball. Going from my favorite look to my least favorite, I’m disappointed with Maleficent’s outfit. I anticipated her being the best-dressed and to me, her dress seems plain in comparison to the others. I like the high collar and the purple flames incorporated into her dress but other than that, her black dress doesn’t blow me away. I can’t forgot to mention Hades, who is decked out in accessories galore. I love the use of Pain and Panic as the comedy/tragedy masks.
The collection will release 1 doll and it’s corresponding pins (sold separately) at a time on ShopDisney, starting with Maleficent on October 6th, 2020. Maleficent is a limited edition of 5,200 and shoppers will need to utilize Merch Pass to reserve their chance to purchase.
