A Night With Moana
Recently, I was lucky to be invited to a special screening of Disney's Moana. This animated feature is based on Polynesian culture and centers around Moana (Auli'i Cravalho), who sails out to sea in search of the demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson). Moana hopes to gain his help to reunite the heart of Te Fiti in order to save her tribe and island.
"Moana" is filled with beautiful animation and fantastic songs co-written by Lin Manuel Miranda. And those songs have been stuck in my head since the screening. Disney has yet another hit on their hand.
So what was it that made this screening so special? There was a reception to follow, and as we left the theater, we were greeted by Polynesian dancers and drums. We followed the dancers to the reception area where delicious food and drinks were served (Polynesian inspired, of course). We were also treated to the music and songs of "Moana", performed by song writer Opetaia Fao'i and his band Te Vaka
Naturally, I took the opportunity to Disney Bound to the best of my ability as Moana. I paired an orange tank top with a beige asymmetrical skirt. Completing the outfit with a brown belt, a pair of sandals and a flower hair clip, which you (unfortunately) can't see in the photo.
"Moana" is definitely a must-see! I'm completely in love with the characters, the story, and the music. Thank you to Disney for another amazing movie and an amazing night.
