"The Secret Life of Pets: Off The Leash!" Ride Coming Soon To Universal Studios Hollywood
Get ready for a brand new riding coming soon to Universal Studios Hollywood! Based on the Illumination’s animated films “The Secret Life Of Pets” and “The Secret Life of Pets 2”, this ride will unite the voice talents from both movies, including Kevin Hart (Snowball), Patton Oswalt (Max), Eric Stonestreet (Duke), Jenny Slate (Gidget), Tiffany Haddish (Daisy), Lake Bell (Chloe), Dana Carvey (Pops), Steve Coogan (Ozone), Chris Renaud (Norman), Hannibal Buress (Buddy), Bobby Moynihan (Mel), Jessica Dicicco (Princess), and Tara Strong (Pickles).
The ride, titled “The Secret Life of Pets: Off The Leash!” will take guests on an incredible journey through a bustling New York City landscape, traveling towards the Pet Adoption event and finding their forever home. By blending live, dimensional, and animated characters with hyper-realistic media and projection mapping, guests will assume the roles of stray puppies. The ride vehicle? Cardboard boxes reminiscent of when Katie first finds her beloved Max.
Turn the guests into puppies? That’s right! The state-of-the-art ride will employ a series of technological firsts that combine sophisticated facial recognition with enhanced gesture tracking, which helps to identify each guest as a unique stray puppy for the duration of the ride. Every time guests experience “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!” they will likely see themselves characterized as a different stray puppy, creating a unique new experience with each ride.
The ride will be located on Pets Place, previously known as Baker Street, and right near the “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” ride. There’ll be an installation of all-new storefront facades which will capture the charm of a busy New York street, including an iconic NYC subway station. “The Secret Life of Pets: Off The Leash!” opens in Spring 2020.
While there is no concept art for the ride (yet), Universal Studios Hollywood did release the official logo. This ride sounds incredibly charming and innovative. It hits close to home for me too, as both of my dogs are rescues from an adoption event. I can’t wait to see myself turned into a puppy and seeing all the beloved characters on the ride.
