Create The Perfect Fall Look
Fall weather equals cozy sweaters and warm color palettes. To create your perfect Fall look, start with an anchor piece. Grace suggests “finding your uniform”, and starting off with your favorite item. Her pick? High-waisted pants and trench coats. For me, I love to layer using scarfs and sweaters.
Fall color palettes can be warm tones such as mustard or burnt orange. Adding a pop of green with neutral tones works as well.
Fall Home Decor Tips + Tricks
Fall decor doesn't mean you have to do a complete overhaul of your home. Subtle changes such as adding decorative pumpkins or fabricated leaves can do the trick. The dollar store is a great place to shop for Fall decor if you’re working on a budget. Grace uses string lights that has an orange tint on it to make her living room appear warm and cozy. Changing your throw pillows to match the Fall color palette or a different blanket for the couch can do the trick as well. If you love Halloween, you can get a little spooky with small skull decors such as string lights or fake cobwebs. Just remember a little can go a long way, we’re not trying to recreate the Haunted Mansion here, even though there’s nothing wrong with that.
Bonus tip - Light a pumpkin scented candle, it’ll make you want to curl up with your favorite book and a cup of hot beverage.
A Sip Of Fall
One of my favorite things about Fall is being able to enjoy a hot beverage without sweating bullets. LA weather is fantastic year-round, but that also means in early October we’re still in the low 80’s. Here are some our favorite Fall beverages:
Pumpkin Spiced Latte (duh)
Hot Apple Cider
Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
DIY Tumeric Tea Latte
GTS’ Fall Edition “Gratitude” Kombucha
Favorite Halloween Haunts, Traditions, and Treats
Living in LA means easy access to theme parks such as Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and Universal Studios. For Halloween, I love visiting Universal Studio’s Halloween Horror Night. This year, they have mazes inspired by Jordan Peele’s Us, Netflix’s Stranger Things, and Ghostbusters. If you enjoy elaborate sets and movie-inspired mazes, Universal Studio’s Halloween Horror Nights is for you. If you’re looking for something a little different, there’s the Haunted Hayride located at Griffin Park. There are a ton to do at the Haunted Hayride - hayride, mazes, skeleton carousel, and more!
If you’re not a fan of jump scares and chainsaw brigades, check out Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney’s California Adventures. It’s great family fun and you can even get a little trick-or-treat action. Costumes are allowed at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party so you can dress up as your favorite character and enjoy the night.
