Halloween Home Decor Tips
You don’t need to dress up your entire home to make it look like the interior of the Haunted Mansion. Just like Margo pointed out, you can take a minimalist approach by adding a couple of pumpkins, skulls, and mini tombstones - all you can find from craft stories like Michaels or even the 99 cent store. Be mindful how much you’re buying so you’re not crowding your home with too many knick knacks.
Favorite Halloween Candy
We’ve all done our fair share of trick-or-treating, whether in our youth or accompanied someone younger. Margo and I list off some of our favorite Halloween sweets we loved receiving and giving out.
Starburst
Sourpatch Kids
Reeses miniature cups
Skittles
Peanut M&Ms
Tips On Dressing Up On Halloween
One of the most fun part of Halloween is getting creative with a costume. If you’re dressing up for work or school, you might want to think about finding a costume you’ll be comfortable in for the whole day. Office and classrooms can be freezing at times so remember to bring something to keep you warm if you’re wearing a dress or sleeveless tops.
Wigs and prosthetic are great but may not be the most comfortable thing to wear to school or work. Here are some ideas for a simple Halloween look:
Hogwarts student
Vampire
Witch
Star Wars fandom such as Jedi/Sith, Rey, Finn, Poe, Leia, Han, Luke
Pokemon trainer or Pokemon onesie
Halloween Party - Tips & Tricks
Assuming your home is decorated in its spooky glory, the first thing to nail down is food. Pinterest is a great place to gather ideas. Finger foods are a favorite for Margo and I - from mini donuts to dressing up your reeses cup with a pretzel stick (Hello, Witch’s broom!), cake pops, and more. Always ask for help! Ask your guests to participate and bring a treat or two so you’re not overwhelmed with the task of prepping all the food and drinks.
If you live near a Trader Joe’s, they have a variety of pumpkin treats and pre-prepped finger foods. If you want to serve warm food, use a crock pop to cook some meatballs, beef stew, and more.
